Stewardship

The governing Board of Directors serve as unremunerated volunteers and are acknowledged leaders, CEOs, educators, and committed business persons.

Once the infrastructure is fully established in 2019, administrative costs will be minimized and the majority of funds donated will be devoted to providing Character Development training to individuals who have a direct educational influence on young people, e.g. neighborhood leaders coaching an inner-city basketball team made up of troubled youth.

The Foundation is established to self-endow using a portion of funds raised each year to invest in the perpetuation of its future.

For the balance of 2018 and early 2019, the Foundation is building infrastructure with the engagement of an experienced and visionary Executive Director, transferring the successful Social Media program begun under the Desmond Doss Council to the Foundation and establishing an effective public outreach to solicit applications for scholarships and establish public awareness.

Individual, corporate and sustaining financial supporters can expect every dollar to be used only to accomplish the Foundation's Mission. We are committed to provide donors with direct and meaningful feedback on how contributions are used and its influence on a new generation of young adults from all walks of life.

The Board of Directors, founder and staff are committed to following the wisdom God grants to them through petition and prayer as we move forward. We ask that you do the same and feel motivated to Donate Now.

Your tax exempt donation is an investment in our young people, one that will help them establish a stable moral compass

The Genesis

The Desmond Doss Foundation was established in 2018 and incorporated as a 501(c)3, tax exempt Tennessee not-for-profit public charity to perpetuate the legacy of WWII Congressional Medal of Honor recipient, Desmond T. Doss Sr. and promote his values through education and public outreach.

Mel Gibson's 2016 movie, Hacksaw Ridge, established Doss and his life of faith, love, loyalty compassion, forgiveness and selflessness and his war time story of patriotism, valor, courage, bravery, integrity and conviction has created a compelling legend. Unlike most legends, the Doss story is faithful to the facts, resilient in an age of declining moral values and known around the globe. It is motivating hundreds of thousands to Live Like Doss.

The Desmond Doss Foundation has a goal of providing cost-free instructional conferences to certify individuals who have the passion and influence to teach character development values to young people. These include educational and youth group leaders, teachers, coaches, counselors, and others with direct influence in helping to shape and align a young person's resilient moral compass for exemplary and productive citizenship and service in their families, churches, communities, and country. Every effort by any effective means available will be made to promote character development.

The Foundation believes that training-the-trainers and providing resources multiplies the impact of our outreach. Credit for professional teacher continuing education is being sought.

The Doss Foundation's outreach and instructional programs are offered without regard to religion, race, political affiliation, economic status, gender, education or nationality. Donate Now.

Supporting and contributing affiliations, e.g., with the Medal of Honor Foundation , Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge, Charles H.Coolidge Medal of Honor Heritage Center and the international Seventh-day Adventist Pathfinder program are being established along with many more.

The Foundation is independent and established to function internationally to both give scholarships and grants and to receive grants from other non-profit organizations with supporting missions, values and goals.
