The Desmond Doss Foundation was established in 2018 and incorporated as a 501(c)3, tax exempt Tennessee not-for-profit public charity to perpetuate the legacy of WWII Congressional Medal of Honor recipient, Desmond T. Doss Sr. and promote his values through education and public outreach.
Mel Gibson's 2016 movie, Hacksaw Ridge, established Doss and his life of faith, love, loyalty compassion, forgiveness and selflessness and his war time story of patriotism, valor, courage, bravery, integrity and conviction has created a compelling legend. Unlike most legends, the Doss story is faithful to the facts, resilient in an age of declining moral values and known around the globe. It is motivating hundreds of thousands to Live Like Doss.
The Desmond Doss Foundation has a goal of providing cost-free instructional conferences to certify individuals who have the passion and influence to teach character development values to young people. These include educational and youth group leaders, teachers, coaches, counselors, and others with direct influence in helping to shape and align a young person's resilient moral compass for exemplary and productive citizenship and service in their families, churches, communities, and country. Every effort by any effective means available will be made to promote character development.
The Foundation believes that training-the-trainers and providing resources multiplies the impact of our outreach. Credit for professional teacher continuing education is being sought.
The Doss Foundation's outreach and instructional programs are offered without regard to religion, race, political affiliation, economic status, gender, education or nationality. Donate Now.
